Notable: Fairmont State is a mid-table MEC program that has been climbing: 4th of the conference field with 87.5 points at the 2026 MEC Championships at Glenville (up from 5th and 67.5 points in 2025), and a program-record four placers at the 2026 NCAA Super Region I Championships. Colton Stoneking is the program's centerpiece - back-to-back MEC champion at 141 in 2025 and 2026, MEC Most Outstanding Wrestler both years as voted by the league's head coaches, and a three-straight-year NCAA qualifier. Nine Falcons placed at the 2026 MEC Championships. The 2025-26 dual season included wins over Shippensburg (20-18), Salem (38-7), Point Park (54-0), Wheeling (24-17), Felician (27-18) and Washington & Jefferson (42-12) against losses to a ranked block - #5 Gannon, #24 UNC Pembroke, #3 Pitt-Johnstown, #9 Glenville State, #6 Tiffin and West Liberty. The Falcons went 25th of 47 at the 2025 Midwest Classic, 5th at the W&J Invitational and 10th at the Glenville State Invitational, and they host their own Fairmont State Open and Fairmont State Duals. Fairmont State also sponsors women's wrestling.
