How to use a state list well

  1. Start wider than you think. Most D3 rosters recruit regionally, but conference travel means a school two states away may compete against the same teams. Look at the whole NCAA region your state falls in, not just the state line.
  2. Sort by what matters to you. On each state page you can sort by conference, head coach, and whether a program publishes a wrestling-specific recruiting questionnaire — the fastest way to make first contact.
  3. Check depth before you fall in love. Open the program page and read the roster-depth table (how many wrestlers at your weight, how many are seniors) — see how to read a college wrestling roster.
  4. Compare four at a time. Add programs to compare to see coach, form, cost, net price and completion side by side.
  5. Watch for changes. Coaching changes and new/dropped programs are logged on what changed — a new head coach often means a new recruiting class philosophy.
